My friends Derek and Michelle got married today. When I checked the forecast earlier this week, it showed that it would be cloudy and rainy this whole weekend. As someone who cares about them and as someone who believes God cares about them, I asked God a few times to hold off the rain and let the sun shine on their wedding day.
When I woke up this morning, I saw that the sun was shining behind some clouds (woohoo!), and there was a perfect amount of overcast sunshine for their wedding pictures in the Boston Public Garden. It turned out to be a beautiful day--plenty of light and no rain. God really does care about us, and I'm glad that we can ask him for small, meaningful things.

I did the exact same thing...I have been in Boston since Thursday and it has been raining the whole time. I had been praying for the sun to shine today and was so excited when I woke up to sun!! Too bad I will only get to enjoy the sun until Monday night here in Boston. :-(
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful wedding though, right?
Yeah, I think a lot of people were praying, and the wedding was beautiful. Very classy, very sweet, and a good representation of Michelle and Derek. Sad to say I'm leaving tomorrow too.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, who is this? I'm not sure that we've met.
Yes, truly the best sermon I have ever heard on the sacrament of marriage. It couldn't have been said better- I cried A LOT!
ReplyDeleteOh ha...I am Halley from MN...dear friends to Michelle and family. I was in town for the wedding. I was at the MN table. :-)
We have not met unless in passing at the wedding. I was going to post something online about "Derek and Michelle" and it lists other postings with similar wording posted recently and your blog came up. So I clicked on it...and you were talking about the same wedding. Go figure.
Where are you headed back to tomorrow?
that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.
